Hosting with your

Internet Service Provider

Internet Service Providers are probably the most confusing process of creating a web page. There are soooo many out there, so how do you choose one? Most ISPs are very good companies. Free free to ask around as to what sites other chapter or other organizations use. Below are listed some that I have used or know of. The websites for many ISPs are very confusing because they often bury their free hosting services because they want to sell you space. Don't give up, keep looking, the free sites are there and often you get just as good of service with the free sites as you do with the paid. Usually what you are paying for is more disk space and more features such as customizable email accounts.

Remember, you can still pay for and register a domain name, like www.eaa1999.org and still use it on a free site.

Free - the main draw back about the free sites are the Pop-up ads or banners. But they use that advertising to make the site free to you, so if your budget can only afford free, what's a few ads. Of course you don't have control over what ads they display either. If possible, check out a few sites that are hosted on the free sites and see how obtrusive the ads are.

Inexpensive - If you don't want the adds, you will have to pay for hosting, but many of the hosting sites have really come down in price over the years. Most contracts with these sites last a minimum of 1 year, so if you don't like their serviettes, you can always change. If you like the site, many offer multi year contracts that will save you money. Keep in mind, prices come down every year and new companies come on the market, so don't lock into a price for very long.

The above are a few suggestions of ISPs that I have used but there are many more out there. Click on the link below to take you to cnet.com's reviews and comparison of ISPs. There are other guides and tips that you can use to research your ISPs.
