EAA Chapter 32 Hangar Overview
Chapter 32 rents two hangars (hangar 7, bays 8 & 10) on the north end of St. Charles County Airport (Smartt Field, airport designation SET). The purpose of these hangars is primarily to provide hangar space for chapter members airplanes, but they also serve as storage for miscellaneous chapter equipment and also serve as a location for chapter meetings in the summer. Do not confuse the rented hangars with the new educational/chapter facility being built on the same airfield - the new chapter facility will not be used to store completed aircraft.
Currently there are 3 planes in each hangar, which serves to provide a service to as many members as practical, and keeps costs low. The hangars are intended to not be subsidized by the chapter, so if the rent from the airport increases, or if fewer planes are in the hangars, the rent is increased. The current rate for each plane is $80.00 a month for 1/3 of the hangar space.
New airplanes are admitted as space becomes available, and are selected in the order they are added to the waiting list. To be added to the list contact the Hangar Coordinator.
